MGI Jetvarnish 3D Spot UV / iFOIL Digital Printing Machine Operator

About the role

AlKhat Printing Press is seeking a full‑time hybrid operator for its MGI Jetvarnish 3D Spot UV and iFOIL digital finishing equipment. The role combines on‑site machine operation with remote tasks such as documentation and scheduling, ensuring high‑quality spot UV, 3D varnish, and foil effects for a variety of client projects.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret job tickets, production schedules, and technical instructions.
• Set up, calibrate, and run MGI Jetvarnish 3D and/or iFOIL machines according to specifications.
• Prepare substrates, apply coatings, and monitor print quality throughout the run.
• Perform basic machine maintenance, routine calibration, and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
• Coordinate with pre‑press and production teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain accurate production records and adhere to safety protocols.
• Meet deadlines while upholding the company’s quality standards.

Required profile

• Experience operating digital finishing equipment, preferably MGI Jetvarnish 3D, iFOIL, or similar spot UV/foil machines.
• Solid understanding of print production processes, substrates, coatings, and colour/quality control.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for machine setup, calibration, and routine maintenance.
• Familiarity with digital workflows and file handling from pre‑press.
• Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and quality compliance.
• Problem‑solving ability, reliability, and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Prior experience in a printing press or packaging environment is preferred; vocational training or technical certification is an advantage.
