Project Engineer I

About the role

KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is seeking a Project Engineer I for a five‑year PMC contract supporting Kuwait Oil Company. The role focuses on delivering programme management services for new and upgraded oil‑field facilities, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and cost‑effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up, take‑over and hand‑over of projects, defining clear objectives for the PMC design/engineering team.
• Manage PMC engineering teams through FEED, bidding and EPC phases.
• Compile scope‑of‑work documents and technical parts of Invitation‑to‑Bid packages, and document project milestone reviews.
• Coordinate reviews and comments on third‑party deliverables such as P&IDs, line lists, equipment datasheets, instrumentation indexes and cable routing within agreed timelines.
• Facilitate client and PMC participation in technical reviews including P&ID, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, 3‑D model and constructability reviews.
• Ensure projects conform to the client’s approved Basis of Design and all applicable regulatory and code requirements.
• Supervise and direct engineering, procurement and construction contractors appointed by the client.
• Support oil‑and‑gas production activities, including start‑up and initial operations assistance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in oil‑and‑gas project engineering, FEED, EPC and PMC environments.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate complex technical reviews.
• Strong understanding of procurement, construction management and project controls.
