QA/QC Welding Inspector

About the role

The QA/QC Welding Inspector will ensure that all welding and fabrication activities on site or in the workshop meet the approved welding procedures, project specifications, and international codes. This role involves close collaboration with construction teams, client representatives, and third‑party inspectors to maintain the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect welding and fabrication work against approved WPS, ITP, drawings, and specifications.
• Verify material identification, traceability, fit‑up, alignment, and joint preparation before welding starts.
• Monitor welding parameters and ensure adherence to approved procedures.
• Review and verify welder qualifications and welding consumables.
• Conduct visual inspections and coordinate NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, punch lists, and quality documentation.
• Witness hydro‑test, pressure testing, and other inspection activities as required.
• Identify non‑conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, ISO, and other applicable codes.
• Participate in internal audits, quality meetings, and implementation of project quality plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in welding inspection and quality control.
• Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in welding, metallurgy, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of international welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API, ISO).
• Proven ability to work on‑site in a construction environment.
