Rig Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Rig Manager to lead on‑shore drilling operations in Kuwait. The role involves overseeing all aspects of rig performance, safety, logistics and maintenance while ensuring client requirements are met efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and control all operational functions of assigned rigs, including safety, drilling, moving, logistics and maintenance.
• Coordinate all phases of rig operations and manage sub‑contractor services on‑site.
• Collaborate closely with the Client’s Representative to fulfil operational requirements safely.
• Analyse costs, drive efficiency improvements and support budgeting for major repairs and equipment.
• Lead QHSE initiatives, implement API Q2 and ISO 9001 standards, and ensure compliance with the QHSE Management System.
• Maintain well programs, RAMS procedures, waste‑management plans and Permit‑to‑Work systems.
• Motivate and manage rig personnel, conduct pre‑tour meetings and provide feedback.
• Develop strong customer relationships and respond promptly to client material, equipment and staffing needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 + years of Oil & Gas experience, including at least 10 years as a Senior Rig Manager on land deep‑water projects.
• Proven Middle‑East experience, preferably in Kuwait.
• Valid Well Sharp/IWCF Well Control and Second Line Well Control certifications.
• Strong understanding of logistics, manpower management and project management within drilling operations.
