Senior Mechanical Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical works on major utility, water and infrastructure projects in Kuwait. The role involves overseeing installation, testing, commissioning and quality assurance to ensure projects meet technical specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical supervision of mechanical installation and construction activities, including pumping systems, pipelines, process equipment and mechanical plant.
• Review mechanical designs, technical submissions, fabrication drawings, construction methodologies and contractor documentation.
• Monitor installation, testing, commissioning and system performance verification to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Support inspection and acceptance testing for mechanical systems and equipment during manufacturing and site execution.
• Oversee QA/QC activities and maintain inspection records, technical reports, commissioning documentation and defect registers.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve integrated system commissioning and successful project delivery.
• Review project completion documentation, as‑built drawings and operation & maintenance manuals for handover.
• Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting, risk mitigation, reliability improvement and operational optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
• Proven experience delivering large‑scale utility, water or infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to build trusted relationships with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
