SSA Issuing Section Lead – Kuwait (Secret Clearance)

About the role

The SSA Issuing Section Lead oversees outbound materiel operations for a theater‑level Supply Support Activity in Southwest Asia. The role ensures timely, accurate issue of Class II, III(P), IV, VII, and IX materiel to supported units while maintaining compliance with Army logistics regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise issuing personnel, validate customer requisitions and post accurate transactions in GCSS‑Army.
• Coordinate with Stock Control and Receiving to resolve discrepancies, manage backorders and ensure proper staging, labeling and load preparation.
• Maintain audit‑ready records, prepare daily issue reports and support lateral transfers, retrograde and redistribution operations.
• Enforce SSA SOPs, safety standards and controlled‑item handling procedures in austere or extreme‑heat environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years logistics experience or HS diploma with 9+ years Army supply experience.
• Active U.S. Secret clearance (preferred) and ability to obtain a valid passport for CENTCOM deployments.
• Physical ability to stand, bend and lift up to 40 lb and work in warehouse/outdoor settings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GCSS‑Army for outbound issue and MRO processing.
• HAZMAT / HAZCOM certification (or ability to obtain).
• Forklift / MHE certification (or ability to obtain).
