About the role
The Assistant Sales Manager supports the hotel’s sales and marketing team in driving revenue, managing group bookings and maintaining strong relationships with travel agents and corporate clients. Working closely with department heads, the role ensures sales targets are met and service standards are upheld.
Key responsibilities
- Follow established sales and marketing policies and advise management on booking progress.
- Report confirmed and anticipated bookings for forecasting purposes.
- Meet regularly with hotel department heads to review sales efforts and provide customer feedback.
- Direct sales executives and coordinators to contact potential leads and manage high‑volume booking periods.
- Resolve booking conflicts based on group importance, revenue potential and alternative dates.
- Maintain relationships with travel agents, local business groups and airlines.
- Entertain clients as needed and correspond with group contacts.
- Analyse sales results and competition, recommending improvements.
- Coordinate with operational departments to ensure delivery of quality products to clients.
- Prepare and furnish monthly sales reports in a timely manner.
- Monitor and ensure subordinates complete assigned tasks effectively and on schedule.
- Attend daily briefings and departmental meetings, communicating effectively with guests, supervisors and other sections.
