C-17 Lead Coordinator

About the role

Boeing is seeking a C-17 Lead Coordinator to support Boeing Global Services at Al Mubarak Air Base, Kuwait. The role is part of the on-site C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program maintenance team supporting the Kuwait Air Force (KAF) aircraft. It is a contractor logistics support (CLS) position covering organizational maintenance activities such as flight-line tasks, inspections, fault diagnosis, component replacement and structural repair.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the CLS shift leader and coordinate all aircraft organizational maintenance in a fast-paced flight-line environment, including recurring Home Station Checks.
• Oversee multiple final scheduled maintenance visit plans and manage a major plan; lead maintenance debriefs and records reviews.
• Define project schedules, approve definitions, manage resource requirements and parts availability with supply chain, and track quality metrics and corrective actions.
• Direct, train and mentor mechanics and technicians on daily aircraft launch, recovery, pre/post-flight and servicing tasks.
• Maintain communication between touch labor, field operations, Boeing support functions and KAF flight crews.
• Work with Logistics Data Management to develop maintenance plans, prioritize, schedule and report aircraft status and unscheduled maintenance.
• Evaluate quality standards before authorizing exceptional aircraft releases, and use root cause analysis to improve mission-capable rates.
• Liaise with internal and external customers as subject matter expert on aircraft condition and operational capability, and help develop organizational plans and objectives.
• Manage and update CLS processes and procedures, and report on the health of the organization.

Required profile

• 10+ years of C-17 maintenance experience (expeditor, FCC, flight line or HSC).
• Ability to work independently with very little direction in a fluid environment with changing customer requirements.
• English is the primary language of the airbase community; all technical data and training are in English.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of Air Force procedures, processes, technical orders and maintenance information systems (e.g. G081).
• Specialized knowledge of the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft and its subsystems and technical network.
• Preferred: experience managing C-17 flight-line maintenance in an Air Force environment, and experience with the Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program and Foreign Military Sales in a multi-national setting.
