Commercial Director / General Manager – Industrial Gases (Iraq & Kuwait)

About the role

The Commercial Director/General Manager will be based in Kuwait and will lead all commercial and general management activities for our client’s operations in Iraq and Kuwait. The role focuses on industrial gases, requiring the development of country‑level business plans, oversight of sales strategies, and strong customer relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business plans for Iraq and Kuwait, aligning with regional and corporate objectives.
• Oversee sales and commercial strategies for industrial gases, driving growth and profitability.
• Manage key customer relationships and contracts, ensuring high service standards.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and competitive activity to inform strategic decisions.
• Lead, mentor and develop local teams, fostering talent and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, ethics and company policies.
• Travel regularly to Iraq and Kuwait to support customers, teams and business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong commercial management and business planning experience in industrial gases markets.
• Proven sales track record with ability to develop strategies, manage key accounts and achieve revenue and margin targets.
• Advanced analytical skills for market assessment, pricing, forecasting and performance reporting.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional teams and developing local talent.
• Extensive experience in industrial gases or related sectors in the Middle East, preferably Iraq and Kuwait.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field; MBA or master’s degree is an advantage.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills; fluency in English required, Arabic an asset.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Kuwait and travel frequently, with a strong focus on safety, ethics and compliance.
