Consultant Geologist (Exploration and Production Geology)

About the role

Anton, an integrated oil and gas value-added management services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Consultant Geologist (Exploration and Production Geology) in Kuwait for its On-sync Energy Management Services Company. The consultant provides technical guidance and supervision to geologists and technicians and leads exploration and appraisal projects.

Key responsibilities

• Advise geologists on technical assignments, exploration studies and wellsite activities, ensuring proper methods, procedures and priorities.
• Lead exploration and appraisal projects, recommending optimal locations for exploration and appraisal wells.
• Plan and supervise detailed geological studies, review and evaluate studies, reports, models and interpretations for technical accuracy.
• Evaluate sedimentary basins, develop stratigraphic and structural maps, cross-sections, correlations and integrated interpretations, and analyse basin evolution, paleostructures, paleogeography, facies and tectonic history.
• Integrate geological and geophysical data to build regional stratigraphic frameworks, identify new plays and prospects, and assess prospectivity and hydrocarbon potential.
• Develop exploration strategies, feasibility studies, priorities, budgets, plans and schedules.
• Prepare geological reports, maintain geological records and lead multidisciplinary teams of geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, petroleum engineers and reservoir engineers.
• Mentor geological personnel and support continuous improvement of exploration workflows.

Required profile

• PhD in Geology, Exploration Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of petroleum geology experience, including at least 15 years in Exploration & Production geology.
• Extensive experience in exploration and appraisal studies, prospect evaluation, basin analysis and petroleum system interpretation.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and international experience with major or independent E&P companies is preferred.
• Experience with Triassic and Paleozoic formations is an advantage.
