Consultant / Senior Specialist – Gastroenterology

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Consultant / Senior Specialist in Gastroenterology to lead patient care activities within our hospital. The role involves providing both inpatient and outpatient consultations, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ensuring compliance with Ministry of Health regulations and hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient and outpatient consultations for a wide range of digestive disorders.
• Collaborate with internal medicine physicians, receive referrals, review records, and develop treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests and examinations.
• Perform endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy and colonoscopy according to granted privileges.
• Prescribe and administer medications, therapies, and specialized medical care.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments, and maintain accurate medical records.
• Participate in departmental meetings, performance‑improvement initiatives, and teaching activities.
• Uphold medical ethics, patient safety, and high standards of professional conduct.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification or equivalent in Gastroenterology.
• Extensive experience in managing gastroenterology patients in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuous medical education and adherence to ethical standards.
