Dermatologist Consultant

About the role

The Dermatology Consultant will lead and supervise patient care within the hospital’s Dermatology department, ensuring compliance with Ministry of Health regulations and departmental policies. The role combines clinical expertise, quality improvement, and staff development to deliver high‑quality skin health services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate dermatology services, adhering to hospital procedures and quality frameworks.
• Conduct comprehensive skin examinations and treat a wide range of conditions, including pediatric dermatology and venereal diseases.
• Prescribe hormonal agents, topical therapies, oral corticosteroids, retinoids, antibiotics, and other medications.
• Perform dermabrasion, laser abrasion, intralesional steroid injections, chemical peels, and other procedural treatments.
• Recommend and order appropriate diagnostic tests based on clinical assessment.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and provide education on skin cancer prevention and sun protection.
• Lead performance‑improvement initiatives and participate in departmental audits.
• Provide training, supervision, and continuing education for junior staff and colleagues.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in Dermatology and valid medical license.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical dermatology, including procedural treatments.
• Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and continuous medical education.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and consult when needed.
