Finance Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead the month‑end close process, ensure accurate financial reporting under IFRS, and maintain the internal control framework for the Kuwait entity. You will work closely with senior accountants, business partners and IT to provide a single source of truth for financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close, produce financial statements and ensure compliance with Group requirements.
• Review reconciliations, journals, master data changes, payment runs and non‑standard journals.
• Own the SOX‑lite internal control framework, manage audit requirements and documentation.
• Conduct monthly balance‑sheet reviews, including bank reconciliations.
• Identify financial risks, policy deviations and control weaknesses.
• Support forecasting, board packs and decision‑support activities.
• Integrate accounting software with business systems (e.g., SFA, WMS) and maintain secure financial databases.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff and coordinate with IT and other functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (Master’s a plus).
• 8‑10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and tax regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Proficiency in SharePoint, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred).
