Head Chef – Japanese Cuisine

About the role

We are launching a new Japanese delivery concept in Kuwait and need an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen. You will be responsible for creating authentic Japanese dishes while managing a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine the restaurant concept, menu, and dish presentations.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and safety.
• Manage food costing, inventory control, and recipe standardization.
• Lead, train, and schedule kitchen staff to maintain high performance.
• Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional experience in Japanese cuisine.
• Proven track record of creating Japanese restaurant concepts and menus.
• Strong leadership and kitchen management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure while delivering consistent quality.

Required skills

• Sushi, sashimi, ramen, donburi, tempura, yakitori, udon, katsu preparation.
• Food costing and inventory control.
• Recipe standardization.
• Food safety and hygiene practices.
