Instrumentation Technician

About the role

Hydrotek Engineering is looking for a motivated Instrumentation Technician to join its industrial automation team. The role involves installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems across plant equipment, with a focus on chiller plants.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission new control systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing plant equipment.
• Perform scheduled calibration routines to guarantee measurement accuracy.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in instrumentation, wiring, and control loops to minimize downtime.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance, calibration, and repair activities.
• Support engineering teams in implementing new control strategies and system upgrades.

Required profile

• Diploma in Instrumentation or Electronics.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of DDC, PLC, SCADA, and related automation/control systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Photoshop is an advantage.
• Hands‑on experience with installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of temperature sensors, flow meters, pressure transmitters, control valves, actuators, and analytical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Understanding of safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and documentation standards.
