Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – Oil & Gas

About the role

Lead the mechanical equipment engineering team on oil‑field projects, ensuring design integrity and supporting Kuwait Oil Company through a 5‑year PMC contract. The role combines conceptual studies, FEED, detailed design and on‑site investigations for new and upgraded facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all mechanical designs comply with project specifications, client, international and local standards.
• Prepare specifications and evaluate rotating equipment packages, including large gas‑turbine driven compressors, pumps and generators.
• Perform conceptual and detailed engineering design, review EPC detailed designs and technical bids.
• Allocate work to team members, supervise within competencies and ensure quality‑assurance and safety procedures are followed.
• Conduct site investigations, produce reports and address constructability issues.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
• 15 years total post‑graduation experience, including 10 years in mechanical design for oil & gas.
• 5 years in a lead design engineer role and at least 3 years using automation software.
• Hands‑on experience with large gas‑turbine driven compressors, pumps and generator packages.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on multiple tight‑deadline assignments.
