Legal Assistant – Intellectual Property

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Assistant to support our intellectual property team in protecting the rights of our clients. The role involves providing legal advice, managing enforcement cases, and conducting comprehensive IP research.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on infringement and counterfeit matters and recommend appropriate actions.
• Manage, coordinate, and monitor legal enforcement cases across various IP domains.
• Prepare day‑to‑day correspondence, reports, and warning letters for clients and counterparts.
• Translate documents as needed between Arabic and English.
• Conduct trademark, patent, copyright, and domain‑name research to verify ownership and identify counterfeit items online.
• Liaise with external lawyers and company branches to gather feedback and ensure follow‑up on infringement cases.
• Review IP‑related agreements such as licensing, franchise, master development, and copyright contracts.
• Prepare annual audit reports summarising legal matters handled for clients.
• Draft and file complaints with government authorities (municipalities, ministries, customs, etc.).
• Perform regular market visits and inspections to detect potential infringements.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws degree.
• 0–2 years of experience in the legal field, preferably in intellectual property.
• Kuwaiti residency.
• Excellent command of Arabic and English.
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
