About the role
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works on the 3rd Floor Rehab unit during night shifts (6:30 pm – 7:00 am). The primary function is to assist patients and families with basic care, hygiene, and monitoring while acting as a compassionate member of the care team.
Key responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care, hygiene assistance, and monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure complete and coordinated care.
Required profile
- 12 college‑level credit hours with a passing grade in English Composition (C or higher) and a minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Willingness to work flexible night hours and a total of 72 hours bi‑weekly.
- Good organization, verbal and written communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
Required skills
- CPR certification (provided).
- Ability to learn and apply new healthcare‑related skills.
- Ability to engage patients at appropriate wellness and cognition levels.
