Regulatory Affairs Officer

About the role

The Regulatory Affairs Officer ensures full legal and regulatory compliance across all import, export, freight, and logistics operations. Reporting to the Freight & Logistics Department Head, this bilingual role acts as the main liaison with governmental and customs authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire, renew and maintain import/export licenses, product registration certificates and operational permits.
• Audit shipments, cargo manifests and trade documents to guarantee 100% compliance with local and international regulations.
• Monitor changes in customs tariffs, import restrictions and supply chain regulatory policies.
• Serve as the bilingual contact point for customs authorities, ministries and regulatory bodies, coordinating inspections and audits.
• Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders and logistics teams to streamline clearance workflows and minimize delays.
• Maintain accurate archives of permits, licenses and inspection reports, and conduct internal regulatory audits.

Required profile

• Meticulous attention to detail in auditing trade documentation and maintaining records.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication in English and Arabic.
• Strong problem‑solving ability to resolve customs bottlenecks and compliance disputes.
• High ethical integrity and commitment to legal transparency.

Required skills

• Proficiency with customs clearance portals.
• Experience using ERP logistics modules.
• Ability to manage compliance databases.
