Security Supervisor

About the role

The Security Supervisor is responsible for the safety and security of guests, employees, and the hotel property. This role oversees patrols, CCTV monitoring, emergency procedures, and ensures all safety equipment is functional. The supervisor also coordinates training and schedules for the security team.

Key responsibilities

• Train new department team members and coordinate multi‑skilled training.
• Establish security patrol routes and manage CCTV coverage during patrols.
• Prepare and maintain staff schedules and monitor clock‑in/out times.
• Conduct random key checks across departments and enforce the hotel’s key control policy.
• Maintain 24‑hour surveillance of guest‑frequented and work areas.
• Monitor fire panels, fire hoses, fire barriers and ensure all fire safety equipment is operational.
• Perform monthly fire inspections and maintain the hotel alarm system.
• Maintain daily incident logs and report discrepancies.

Required profile

• Knowledge of hotel emergency plans, fire alarm locations, and firefighting equipment.
• Familiarity with the liquor act and criminal code.
• Ability to respond immediately to hazardous situations and initiate corrective actions.
• Experience in supervising security staff and conducting training.

Required skills

• Operation and monitoring of CCTV systems.
• Understanding of fire alarm panels, fire hose outlets, and fire barriers.
• Knowledge of hotel switchboard, payment systems, gas and air‑conditioning controls.
• Use of fire indicator boards, fire warden telephones, and public address systems.
