Senior Consultant Geophysicist - Exploration Geophysics

About the role

Anton, an integrated oil and gas value-added management services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Senior Consultant Geophysicist for its On-sync Energy Management Services Company in Kuwait. The role covers basin-scale geophysical evaluations, seismic interpretation, prospect generation, seismic acquisition management and exploration well support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead basin-scale geophysical evaluations integrating seismic, gravity, magnetic and well data to define regional structural frameworks and basin architecture.
• Conduct regional seismic interpretation, horizon mapping and cross-section construction, and prepare Play Chance Assessments and Petroleum System Models.
• Evaluate exploration risks and generate, rank and assess exploration prospects using 3D seismic, AVO/AVAz and probabilistic volumetric assessments (P10/P50/P90).
• Lead structural interpretation, fault mapping, time-depth conversion, DHI evaluation and seismic inversion studies.
• Design and manage 2D and 3D seismic acquisition programs, from survey design and pre-survey modelling through to project delivery and quality control.
• Support exploration well planning, trajectory assessment, LWD/MWD interpretation, post-drill seismic-to-well ties and prospect re-evaluation.
• Interpret gravity, magnetic, magnetotelluric and other non-seismic data, and promote AI/ML, digital geoscience and emerging technologies.
• Prepare technical reports and prospect portfolios, mentor geoscience professionals and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• PhD in Geophysics, Geoscience or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of upstream oil and gas experience, with extensive basin analysis, seismic interpretation and prospect generation experience.
• Proven experience in seismic acquisition planning, project management and exploration well support.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and strong international experience with major E&P companies; Middle East experience is an advantage.
• Fluent English, strong report writing and presentation skills; technical publications preferred.

• Potential field methods (gravity, magnetic, magnetotelluric)
• Probabilistic resource estimation and exploration risk assessment (SPE-PRMS)
• AI/ML and digital geoscience tools (highly desirable)
