Senior Consultant - Hydrocarbon Lawyer Specialist

About the role

Anton, a global integrated oil and gas value-added management services company headquartered in Dubai, is hiring a Senior Consultant - Hydrocarbon Lawyer Specialist in Kuwait for its On-sync Energy Management Services Company. The role provides legal and regulatory advice on Oil & Gas partnerships, from pre-tender and tender stages through to contract execution and ongoing partnership activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal and regulatory advice on partnership models aligned with legal, regulatory, technical and commercial requirements.
• Support pre-tender and tender stages and ensure partnership agreements are legally sound and commercially appropriate.
• Draft and review Terms & Conditions for Oil & Gas partnerships with technical, commercial, tax and other stakeholders.
• Advise on the execution and administration of partnership agreements, including amendments, renewals and relinquishments.
• Support the establishment and ongoing legal requirements of Joint Operating Companies (JOCs) and similar structures.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations and recommend updates to partnership agreements and contractual frameworks.
• Conduct legal and reputational due diligence on potential partners, including regulatory standing, compliance history and risks.
• Review partner compliance reports and address contractual or regulatory non-compliance.
• Develop and maintain legal and regulatory frameworks and reference materials for Oil & Gas partnerships.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external partners, regulators and legal advisers.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a recognised institution.
• Minimum 20 years of professional legal experience, including substantial experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven experience with Joint Ventures, Production Sharing Agreements, Joint Operating Agreements or similar partnership structures.
• Experience in legal and reputational due diligence, regulatory compliance and contractual risk assessment.
• Knowledge or experience in Energy Law, International Business Law or Environmental Law is preferred; additional certification in Energy Law, Contract Management or Compliance is an advantage.

Required skills

• Extensive experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing complex Oil & Gas contracts and partnership agreements.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, critical-thinking, risk-management and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong knowledge of national and international legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to the Oil & Gas industry.
