Senior Pipeline Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Surbana Jurong is looking for an experienced Senior Pipeline Infrastructure Engineer to lead technical oversight on major water, utility and infrastructure projects. The role involves supervising pipeline construction, installation, testing and commissioning to ensure safe, efficient delivery in line with project specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical supervision of pipeline installation, including transmission pipelines, valves, chambers and related infrastructure.
• Review engineering drawings, alignment plans, welding and jointing procedures, construction methodologies and contractor submissions.
• Monitor installation, inspection, testing, commissioning and performance verification activities for compliance.
• Support hydrostatic and pressure testing, pipeline integrity assessments and acceptance testing.
• Oversee trenching, bedding, backfilling, reinstatement and associated civil works.
• Coordinate with contractors, utility stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ensure adherence to specifications, standards, QA/QC requirements and safety procedures.
• Maintain inspection records, technical documentation, defect registers and project reporting.
• Review as‑built documentation, completion records and handover deliverables.
• Provide expertise in troubleshooting, risk mitigation, construction planning and performance improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in pipeline infrastructure engineering, preferably in a consultancy environment.
• Proven track record of delivering large‑scale water or utility projects.
• Strong ability to build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
