About the role
Join Siemens Smart Infrastructure GridSoftware division as a Telecommunications Specialist, supporting the design, installation, and maintenance of communication systems for power grid substations. You will work on cutting‑edge digital solutions that enable safe, efficient, and sustainable energy distribution.
Key responsibilities
- Lead installation and commissioning of telecommunication equipment according to customer specifications.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault resolution on PDH, SDH, MPLS‑TP, routing and switching devices.
- Participate in on‑call duty and regular support operations.
- Prepare technical reports, protocols and approval documentation for internal teams and customers.
- Create and update design drawings using AutoCAD and interpret cable plans and site layouts.
- Coordinate telemetry installation in new substations, including panels, batteries, chargers and cabling.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery and high‑quality outcomes.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements based on emerging technologies.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications within power‑grid environments.
- Hands‑on expertise with PDH, SDH, MPLS‑TP, routing and switching technologies.
- Experience with MPLS‑TP & NMS for Infinera and Huawei equipment.
- Familiarity with Siemens L3/L2 devices, Digital Inter‑trip equipment and Fortinet firewalls.
- Strong technical documentation skills and ability to translate plans into actionable site tasks.
- Proven problem‑solving, troubleshooting and organizational abilities.
- Experience working in international or multicultural teams and comfortable with on‑site, high‑pressure environments.
