Assistant/Associate Professor of Philosophy (Full‑time)

About the role

The university is seeking full‑time Assistant or Associate Professors of Philosophy to join its Liberal Arts Department starting in the Fall Semester 2026. This position involves teaching, curriculum development, and scholarly research within a diverse, inclusive campus environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update course materials, including syllabi, presentations, and assignments, in collaboration with fellow faculty.
• Deliver student‑centered lectures using the university’s learning management systems (Moodle and Banner).
• Design, administer, and grade formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain regular office hours for student consultation and participate in faculty meetings.
• Conduct original research, publish findings, and contribute to the institution’s research agenda.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Philosophy.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Critical Thinking or related courses.
• Commitment to the university’s learner‑centered mission and to fostering an inclusive academic community.
• Willingness to teach both specialization and common courses aligned with the applicant’s expertise.
• Active participation in departmental and college activities with a spirit of leadership and collegiality.

Required skills
