QA/QC Inspector – Welding (Oil & Gas)

About the role

We are seeking a QA/QC Inspector specialized in welding for oil & gas projects in Ahmadi, Kuwait. The role involves ensuring all welding activities meet client specifications, industry codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections, fit‑up checks and dimensional verification before, during and after welding.
• Conduct welder qualification tests and monitor welding procedures (WPS/PQR).
• Verify welding consumables, pre‑heat and post‑weld heat treatment as required.
• Ensure compliance with API 1104, ASME and KOC standards.
• Identify non‑conformances, issue NCRs and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a welding inspector on oil & gas projects.
• Mandatory certifications: CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI or ASNT Level 2.

Required skills

• Welding inspection and visual inspection techniques.
• Fit‑up and dimensional verification.
• Welder qualification testing and WPS/PQR monitoring.
• Knowledge of API 1104, ASME and KOC welding standards.
• Proficiency with welding consumables and heat‑treatment procedures.
