Assistant Manager - Events

About the role

The Assistant Manager - Events assists the Manager in running meetings and events and in implementing the brand's service strategy and initiatives. The role also helps grow event revenues, resolves issues that arise during events, and keeps the banquet floor running smoothly through daily walk-throughs.

Key responsibilities

• Help manage meetings and special events operations, research competitors' products, pricing and services, and review scheduled events to spot and solve problems.
• Help coordinate groups affecting property operations and oversee cleaning, maintenance of meeting spaces and furniture and equipment, keeping inventory within corporate guidelines.
• Help execute brand service initiatives and run daily walk-throughs of the banquet floor to maintain quality and client satisfaction.
• Build relationships with outside vendors, set prices and service agreements, and help create the annual banquet budget.
• Meet guest expectations, consult customers on their event objectives, and support the delivery of exceptional customer service.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, with 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing or a related field.
• Or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related major, with 1 year of experience in those fields.
