C-17 Field Services Customer Engineer

About the role

Boeing is seeking a C‑17 Field Services Customer Engineer to join the on‑site engineering and technical support team at Al‑Mubarak Air Base in Kuwait. The role provides real‑time, mission‑critical assistance to the Kuwait Air Force, delivering troubleshooting, repair guidance, and on‑the‑job training for the Boeing Globemaster III aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve complex operational problems in coordination with the Kuwait customer and Boeing entities.
• Provide troubleshooting, repair guidance, and interpretation of technical documents.
• Deliver specialized training on operating, maintenance, servicing procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Support mission safety through spares supply, equipment assistance, and field documentation.
• Prepare and transmit technical reports, change requests, and continuous improvement data.
• Offer similar support to other regional and worldwide C‑17 customers, including travel to additional locations as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently under time constraints and in an on‑call, 24/7 operational environment.
• Experience with C‑17 or comparable wide‑body aircraft.
• Enrollment in the US Air Force sanctioned C‑17 Delegated Engineering Authority program (2‑4 years training).

• Non‑Destructive Inspection (NDI) techniques.
• Circuit knowledge and interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) proficiency.
• Electrical/avionic systems expertise.
• Mechanical/airframe repair and hydro‑mechanical system knowledge.
• Propulsion system understanding.
