About the role
The position provides high‑level technical assistance for the EU‑funded “Egypt Downtown Facility” project. It focuses on strengthening human‑rights, gender‑equality, social‑inclusion and civil‑society development within the EU‑Egypt strategic partnership.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver technical assistance on human‑rights, gender‑equality, social inclusion and civil‑society development, ensuring rights‑based approaches.
- Conduct policy and institutional assessments, stakeholder consultations and analytical studies to inform programme implementation.
- Support civil‑society organisations and public institutions in participatory policy dialogue and capacity building.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in human rights, law, political science, gender studies, development studies, social sciences or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in human‑rights, gender‑equality, social inclusion or civil‑society development.
- Proven experience in policy assessments, stakeholder consultations and analytical research.
- Fluent in English (C1) and Arabic (C1); French is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of gender mainstreaming and rights‑based approaches in international cooperation.
- Experience in Egypt or the broader MENA region is highly desirable.
