Instrument Engineer

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer to join its petrochemical/oil & gas operations. The role involves ensuring the reliable performance of instrumentation systems across the plant, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and major projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation systems.
• Provide hands‑on support for Distributed Control System (DCS) and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems.
• Interpret P&IDs and technical datasheets to verify correct loop configuration.
• Conduct loop checking, testing, and shutdown (S/D) activities.
• Apply KNPC and SHELL DEP standards or equivalent industry codes.
• Collaborate with plant and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–10+ years of experience in the petrochemical or oil & gas industry.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and coordination skills in plant/project environments.

Required skills

• Distributed Control System (DCS) operation.
• Emergency Shutdown (ESD) system expertise.
• Instrumentation systems installation and maintenance.
• Loop checking, testing, and shutdown procedures.
• Interpretation of P&IDs and technical datasheets.
• Knowledge of KNPC standards.
• Knowledge of SHELL DEP standards.
