Lead Remediation Specialist – Principal Environmental Scientist

About the role

Worley is seeking a Lead Remediation Specialist to drive the design, implementation and supervision of remediation programmes for contaminated sites. The role combines technical expertise in environmental science with project leadership to ensure compliance and deliver value across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate remediation programmes, maintaining schedules, budgets and junior staff.
• Lead remedial design, excavation supervision and confirmatory sampling activities.
• Prepare and present technical correspondence, proposals, reports, work plans and cost estimates to clients.
• Interpret environmental regulations, communicate with regulators and stakeholders, and ensure project compliance.
• Provide quality‑assurance oversight within the Contaminated Sites Group and adhere to Worley health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in environmental issues related to landfill design, construction or operation.
• Proven track record managing remediation technologies for oil‑contaminated soil.
• Experience preparing Environmental Impact Assessments and conceptual site models.
• Ability to mentor and train junior employees.
