Mechanical Design Engineer – Vehicle Chassis & Process Engineering

About the role

Al Khaled Factory is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical architecture, structural framework, and process diagramming for custom caravans and mobile units. The role is based in Kuwait with on‑site execution in Doha, Qatar, and involves full ownership of chassis design, load calculations, and assembly workflow documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyse and optimise vehicle chassis, frames and structural supports using 3D CAD software.
• Perform structural integrity and load assessments, accounting for weight distribution, towing forces and dynamic road vibrations.
• Create clear assembly workflows, structural blueprints and SOP flowcharts to guide workshop production.
• Collaborate with fabricators, technicians and the electrical team to ensure seamless integration of solar setups, battery banks and utility tanks.
• Oversee on‑site engineering operations in Doha while maintaining alignment with the head office in Kuwait.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Structural Engineering.
• 3–6 years of hands‑on experience in vehicle chassis design, trailer/caravan manufacturing or structural fabrication.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Doha, Qatar, coordinated through the Kuwait office.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes (welding, cutting, sheet shaping).
• Experience with material selection and structural load analysis.
• Ability to translate complex manufacturing steps into technical drawings and process diagrams.
