Operational Risk Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Operational Risk Manager to lead our enterprise risk management function. The successful candidate will own the end‑to‑end risk framework, work closely with senior leadership, and act as the registered Risk Management Officer with the Capital Markets Authority.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and continuously improve the enterprise risk management framework and risk appetite statement.
• Own the risk register, conduct risk assessments across all departments and track mitigation plans to closure.
• Lead Business Impact Analysis, business continuity planning and periodic testing.
• Prepare risk reports for senior management, the Risk Committee and the Board.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with CMA regulatory requirements related to risk management.
• Coordinate with internal audit, compliance and external regulators during reviews and inspections.
• Promote risk culture and deliver risk awareness across the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of risk management experience within a CMA‑licensed entity, bank or financial services firm, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Current or prior registration with the CMA as a Risk Management Officer (priority).
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• Kuwait‑based candidates only.

Required skills

• CISI Risk in Financial Services certificate (mandatory for CMA registration).
• CISI CMA Kuwait Rules and Regulations certificate (mandatory for CMA registration).
• Strong knowledge of Kuwait CMA Law No. 7 of 2010 and its Executive Bylaws.
• Additional risk credentials such as FRM, PRM or ISO 31000 are an advantage.
