Power Generation/Aircraft Arresting System Technician

About the role

V2X is seeking a skilled technician to operate and maintain power generation equipment and aircraft arresting systems used for take‑off and landing operations. The role involves hands‑on work with diesel generators, hydraulic arresting gear, and associated control systems in an airfield environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, operate, and service electrical power generating units, automatic transfer switches, and auxiliary equipment such as air compressors.
• Maintain, rewind, pretension, and certify aircraft arresting systems, catapults and related hydraulic/mechanical components.
• Perform inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on generators, switchgear, circuit breakers, rheostats and distribution panels.
• Synchronize multiple generators and adjust voltage, frequency and load sharing.
• Activate arresting gear during emergency landings and direct launch/recovery operations using hand or light signals.
• Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance actions and aircraft launch/recovery events.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating and maintaining diesel or gasoline generators and related power‑distribution equipment.
• Familiarity with aircraft arresting systems, hydraulic mechanisms and launch/recovery procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, instrumentation displays and maintenance manuals.
• Strong attention to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
