RPA Avionics Technician I – Deployment Pool

About the role

The RPA Avionics Technician I will join a Deployment Pool supporting Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) operations across CONUS and OCONUS locations. The role requires flexibility to travel and work on varied schedules while performing electronic maintenance, inspections, and modifications on RPA systems and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and inspect organizational and intermediate level electronic maintenance on RPA avionics and support equipment.
• Interpret Air Force technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals, and other technical publications to diagnose and repair malfunctions.
• Utilize common and complex test instruments to verify system performance and restore equipment operation.
• Maintain, repair, and install various electronic devices, ensuring compliance with technical standards.
• Support deployment schedules, including pre‑deployment medical screening and OCONUS travel requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent military/vocational training.
• At least one year of aircraft avionics or ground control station (GCS) maintenance experience.
• Basic understanding of electronics principles, circuits, and RFF (Radio Frequency) systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical data tables.
• Eligibility to obtain an IAT Level II certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, or GSEC) within 90 days of hire or after the second deployment.
