Senior Legal Counsel – GCC & Kuwait

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support for our operations across Kuwait and the wider GCC region. The role involves advising on commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution while working closely with senior management and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and deliver advice on cross‑border transactions, joint ventures, franchising and licensing arrangements.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents in English and Arabic, ensuring compliance with Kuwaiti and international law.
• Guide the business and GA teams through licensing and permitting processes for retail, logistics, warehousing and related activities.
• Collaborate with senior management to embed legal requirements into all business operations.
• Represent the company in court proceedings, negotiations and alternative dispute resolution forums.
• Monitor changes in Kuwaiti and GCC regulatory frameworks and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain a high‑quality network of external law firms and legal advisors in Kuwait.
• Work with the global legal team to ensure consistent compliance standards across jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of relevant legal experience, including at least 5 years in Kuwait.
• Deep knowledge of Kuwaiti corporate, contract, commercial, labour and foreign‑investment regulations.
• Native Arabic speaker with fluent written and spoken English.
• Proven ability to manage complex legal projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with Kuwaiti licensing authorities and government approval processes.
• Experience in retail, logistics, warehousing or food‑delivery sectors is a plus.
