Senior Marketplace Buyer

About the role

The Senior Marketplace Buyer will drive e‑commerce growth by onboarding and supporting small and medium‑sized businesses. You will own the end‑to‑end performance of assigned categories, develop strategic seller partnerships, and solve high‑impact business challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the business owner for assigned categories, understanding internal and external variables that affect performance.
• Forecast, monitor, report on category performance and lead projects and promotions to meet objectives.
• Track industry trends, seasonality, competitor activity and identify profitability and selection expansion opportunities.
• Advocate for customer‑centric site features to enhance the shopping experience.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and secure marketing funds.
• Create business plans for new opportunities and execute launch projects with merchandising and pricing strategies.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and meet tight deadlines.
• Conduct financial analysis to exceed revenue and profitability targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business or Management.
• 5+ years of senior‑level retail experience in consumer electronics, sports, hobbies, travel, home & garden.
• Proven track record in vendor negotiations, pricing, promotions, inventory management and product development.
• Ability to own and manage a Business P&L.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities, comfortable with complex financial data.
• Excellent business acumen and communication skills.
• Ability to operate in both tactical and strategic modes in a fast‑paced environment.
• Arabic proficiency is a plus.
