Sports & Leisure Supervisor

About the role

Jumeirah Messilah Beach, a luxury beachfront resort in Kuwait with 316 rooms and suites, 79 residential suites and 10 villas, is hiring a Supervisor for its Sports & Leisure team. The role covers the day-to-day running of sports, fitness and leisure facilities, staff supervision and guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operation of sports, fitness and leisure facilities and lead, support and motivate team members.
• Allocate daily duties, monitor staff performance and handle guest enquiries, complaints and operational issues.
• Supervise sports activities, fitness programmes, recreational activities and events, and ensure facilities and equipment are clean, safe and ready for use.
• Carry out regular facility, equipment and safety checks, and ensure staff follow health and safety and emergency procedures.
• Monitor bookings and ensure courts, activity areas and facilities are used efficiently.
• Coordinate with instructors, coaches, lifeguards, maintenance, housekeeping, security and other departments.
• Monitor stock levels of sports equipment, uniforms and towels, report damaged equipment and follow up on maintenance.
• Support staff training, inductions and development, prepare rosters and help ensure adequate staffing per shift.
• Maintain accurate operational records, incident reports and checklists, and promote sports and leisure programmes and memberships to guests.
• Ensure company policies and service standards are followed, report issues to the Sports and Leisure Manager, and run the department in the manager's absence.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in Sports & Leisure in a five-star hotel.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Strong customer service and guest relations skills.
• Ability to prepare staff rosters and organise daily workloads.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
