Sustainability & Environmental Specialist – Kuwait

About the role

Egis is seeking a detail‑oriented Sustainability/Environmental Specialist to join its team in Kuwait. You will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of environmental initiatives across port, terminal and infrastructure operations, ensuring compliance with international and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability audits for maritime and infrastructure projects.
• Develop and maintain environmental management programs aligned with ISO 14001, MARPOL and local regulations.
• Monitor air quality, water quality, waste streams and emissions; analyse data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare sustainability reports and compliance documentation for regulators and stakeholders.
• Identify and implement measures to reduce carbon emissions, energy use and waste generation.
• Manage environmental projects from concept to completion, respecting timelines and budgets.
• Perform risk assessments for environmental hazards and propose mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with operations, terminal and infrastructure teams to embed best‑practice sustainability measures.
• Maintain environmental management systems, databases and provide staff training on policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in environmental compliance within maritime or port settings.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate technical information clearly.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management standards.
• Familiarity with MARPOL regulations.
• Proficiency in environmental data collection and analysis.
• Experience conducting impact assessments and sustainability audits.
