Technical Inspector – Automotive & Heavy Equipment

About the role

The Technical Inspector will be based in Kuwait and will support V2X’s defence‑related automotive programmes. Reporting to the Lead Technical Inspector, you will conduct initial, in‑progress and final inspections of military, commercial and heavy‑equipment vehicles, ensuring they meet operational and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial, classification, in‑progress and final inspections of automotive equipment.
• Use Global Combat Support System‑Army (GCSS‑A) and DOD CAC credentials to record inspection data.
• Diagnose defects with Test Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE) and technical manuals.
• Conduct battlefield damage assessment and repair (BDAR) and calculate ACOD, ECOD and ECOR.
• Order repair parts using military or COTS technical manuals and assist shop personnel with troubleshooting.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; civilian trade qualification or US Army/Air Force/USMC Wheel Mechanic certification (DD214 required).
• Valid US driver’s license and ability to obtain US Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Kuwait driver’s license.
• Minimum five (5) years automotive repair or shop operations experience.
• At least two (2) years experience as a Technical Inspector.

Required skills

• Proficiency with TMDE (Test Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment).
• Experience using GCSS‑A and DOD CAC access.
• Ability to read and apply technical, commercial and service manuals.
• Competence with micrometers, gauges and other precision measuring tools.
• Knowledge of battlefield damage assessment and repair (BDAR) processes.
