Accountant – Construction & Trading Operations

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage financial operations across our construction contracting and trading divisions. The role ensures accurate cost control, project reporting, and regulatory compliance while supporting both internal project teams and external trade partners.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate material, labour and equipment costs to project codes for job costing.
• Prepare and submit progressive client invoices based on milestones and percentage‑of‑completion calculations.
• Review subcontractor contracts, verify completion certificates and process retention payments.
• Monitor budget variance by comparing actual expenditures with bid estimates.
• Maintain accounts payable and receivable ledgers for local and international trade partners.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations, cash position updates and inter‑company adjustments.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures and support external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a dual trading and construction environment.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with project managers, procurement and executives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Tally or QuickBooks.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modelling).
