Assistant Manager - Housekeeping

About the role

St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, is looking for an Assistant Manager for Housekeeping in Safat, Kuwait. This is an entry-level management position focused on supporting the day-to-day activities of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and Laundry, if applicable. The role directs and works with employees to clean and maintain guestrooms and public spaces, completes inspections and holds people accountable for corrective action, and helps ensure guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. Female candidates are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Manage housekeeping operations and budgets, keeping OSHA regulations up to date and overseeing lost-and-found procedures.
• Prepare work assignments from immediate cleaning lists and prospective check-outs, and communicate guest room status to the Front Desk.
• Inventories stock, manages linen inventory and guest supplies, and works with Engineering on room maintenance needs.
• Supervise daily shift operations, inspections and staffing levels, and act in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
• Handle guest complaints and complaints, review comment cards and guest satisfaction results, and coach employees on service.
• Support training, investigate employee accidents, manage payroll administration and supervise performance appraisals.
• Take part in interviewing and hiring, handle progressive disciplinary procedures, and use the Labor Management System to schedule staff and track time and attendance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, with 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
• Or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related major; no work experience required.
