Associate Merchandiser (Assistant Manager Level)

About the role

The Associate Merchandiser takes end-to-end ownership of OTB management, demand planning and in-season trading performance for the fashion and jewellery category. Reporting to the Merchandising Manager, the role contributes directly to category financial reviews and seasonal strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Own the OTB plan for the jewellery category, from seasonal build through to in-season reforecasting
• Run scenario modelling to support markdown and clearance decisions, protecting margin while managing stock health
• Contribute to half-year and full-year financial reviews with structured category reporting
• Lead the demand planning cycle, set forecast parameters and monitor accuracy against targets
• Define inventory deployment strategies that balance product availability with OTB efficiency across channels
• Identify demand and stock risks early and develop mitigation plans with Buying
• Own weekly in-season trading reviews, recommend and execute pricing, markdown and promotional actions
• Monitor channel performance and escalate material risks to the Merchandising Manager with a clear impact assessment
• Collaborate with Buying, Supply Chain, Finance and Online Merchandising on planning and inventory decisions, and share demand and inventory insight with Online Merchandising
• Partner with Finance on budget reconciliation and category financial governance

Required profile

• 6 to 9 years in merchandising with category ownership and team management experience
• Proven experience implementing and scaling Algolia search in a production e-commerce environment
• Multi-category management experience in a fast-paced retail or e-commerce environment
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain or a related field; postgraduate preferred
