Backend Developer – Laravel & Magento 2

About the role

Maqadhe is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to build and maintain mission‑critical e‑commerce applications in Kuwait. The role focuses on Laravel and Magento 2 platforms, delivering robust APIs and integrations for enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Laravel applications and backend services.
• Customize Magento 2 backend, create custom modules, and manage APIs.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for ERP, payment gateways, mobile apps, and other external services.
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and ensure database efficiency.
• Work with MySQL, Redis, queues, jobs, and schedulers to support high‑traffic environments.
• Support deployments, monitor production systems, and resolve complex integration challenges.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional PHP development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Laravel in production environments.
• Proven experience customizing Magento 2 backend applications.
• Solid knowledge of MySQL database design, query optimization, and debugging.
• Experience building REST APIs and integrating third‑party services.
• Familiarity with ERP systems or other complex business integrations.
• Proficiency with Git and Linux command‑line environments.
