Category Manager - Local Shops

About the role

Talabat is launching a dedicated Beauty vertical and seeks a Category Manager to lead and grow this new business line. You will be responsible for building the category from the ground up, shaping the assortment, supplier relationships, pricing, promotions and overall commercial performance across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end category management for the Beauty vertical, covering skincare, cosmetics, haircare, fragrance and personal care.
• Define and execute a category strategy aligned with Talabat’s commercial goals and regional consumer trends.
• Monitor and drive key performance indicators such as sales, gross margin, P&L, conversion rate and basket size.
• Curate a compelling assortment that balances mass‑market, premium and emerging brands relevant to MENA consumers.
• Identify, onboard and negotiate with local and regional beauty suppliers, securing pricing, rebates, payment terms and exclusivities.
• Collaborate with regional teams to align international brand contracts and ensure a consistent portfolio across markets.
• Stay up‑to‑date with beauty industry trends and competitor activity to inform category decisions.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of the beauty industry, including skincare, haircare, cosmetics and fragrance.
• Strong commercial mindset with proven experience in category management or similar commercial roles.
• Entrepreneurial drive to build a new vertical in a fast‑growing e‑commerce environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably within e‑commerce or retail.
