Central Maintenance Department Planner

About the role

The Central Maintenance Department Planner is responsible for coordinating all planned maintenance activities, especially shutdowns, within an EAF‑based steel plant. Working closely with the Chief Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical & Automation) and the Purchase department, the planner ensures that schedules, spares, and external services are aligned with operational priorities and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare job lists and time schedules for planned down‑day activities and annual shutdowns.
• Arrange external service agencies, OEM engineers, and contractors for specialized jobs.
• Plan and procure required spares, consumables, and tools in coordination with the Chief Engineer and Purchase department.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and safety teams to align maintenance schedules with operational priorities.
• Maintain and audit electrical/mechanical records, test reports, and work orders for compliance.
• Report backlog status, planning performance, and recommend improvements.
• Assist in compiling maintenance budget inputs for spares, services, modifications, and civil requirements.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of equipment used in an EAF‑based steel plant.
• Ability to study system and equipment drawings and select appropriate tools for critical jobs.
• Excellent coordination skills with engineering, procurement, production, and safety teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety directives.
