CNC Engineer / Programmer – Metal Fabrication

About the role

Al Khaled Factory, a growing manufacturing company based in Kuwait, is looking for an experienced CNC Engineer / Programmer to support its custom caravans and mobile units project in Doha, Qatar. The role involves converting engineering designs and 3D CAD/CAM models into accurate G‑code and operating CNC equipment to produce high‑precision metal components.

Key responsibilities

• Create, test, and optimise CNC programs using CAD/CAM software for cutting, milling, shaping and drilling steel, aluminium and composite materials.
• Set up, calibrate and operate CNC routers, plasma cutters and milling centres, ensuring tight production tolerances.
• Interpret technical engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints to guarantee parts meet exact specifications.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, monitor machine performance and inspect finished parts with calipers and micrometers.
• Troubleshoot programming, tooling or hardware issues during runs and perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with mechanical design and workshop teams in Doha to ensure smooth workflow and material hand‑offs.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or a related field.
• 3 to 6 years of hands‑on CNC programming and operation experience in metal or structural fabrication.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, attention to safety and quality standards.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Doha, Qatar, while being managed from the Kuwait head office.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and deep understanding of G‑code and CNC control systems.
• Knowledge of metal properties (steel, aluminium), cutting speeds, feeds and tolerances.
• Ability to read complex technical and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
