Consultant – Maternal & Fetal Medicine

About the role

Taiba Hospital is seeking a senior Consultant in Maternal & Fetal Medicine to lead the care of high‑risk pregnancies and complex maternal‑fetal conditions. The role combines advanced diagnostics, therapeutic interventions, and multidisciplinary coordination to improve outcomes for mothers and their babies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑risk pregnancy management from diagnosis through delivery.
• Perform advanced fetal diagnostics, including ultrasound, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and other invasive procedures.
• Provide specialist consultations to patients, families, and clinical colleagues for complex cases.
• Respond swiftly to maternal or fetal emergencies, ensuring critical decisions are made under pressure.
• Drive collaboration across obstetrics, neonatology, and allied specialties to develop unified care plans.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and compliance with Taiba Hospital and MOH regulations.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Board Certified or equivalent).
• Advanced certification or fellowship in Maternal‑Fetal Medicine.
• Minimum 9 years post‑qualification experience managing high‑risk pregnancies.
• Proven expertise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic fetal procedures.
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to perform under pressure, and commitment to patient‑centered care.

Required skills

• Ultrasound imaging for fetal assessment.
• Amniocentesis technique.
• Chorionic villus sampling (CVS).
