Contract Specialist – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The role involves providing expert commercial and contractual support for major infrastructure and construction projects. The Contract Specialist will guide project teams on contract administration, cost management, variations, claims and compliance to ensure successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Administer construction contracts and advise project leadership on commercial, contractual and risk matters.
• Review contractors’ submissions, invoices and payment applications for accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Evaluate variations and change proposals, conduct technical and commercial assessments, and prepare contract amendments.
• Assess contractor claims and notices, recommending entitlement, time and cost implications.
• Perform measurements, valuations and cost control activities, delivering accurate commercial reporting.
• Maintain contractual records, correspondence registers and commercial documentation for governance.
• Provide guidance on dispute avoidance, contract interpretation and risk mitigation.
• Support project close‑out activities, including final account settlement and contract handover.
• Contribute to commercial reporting, forecasting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in contract administration within a consultancy or engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of commercial, contractual and risk management for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Ability to assess variations, claims and provide clear recommendations.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Track record of building trusted relationships with stakeholders.
