Control Room Operator – Ferro Silicon Plant

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Control Room Operator to join our Ferro Silicon plant in Kuwait. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) and related process systems from the control room, ensuring safe, stable, and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the plant through the PLC/DCS system, maintaining furnace power, electrode operation, cooling water, raw material charging, and auxiliary systems within established limits.
• Monitor process alarms and coordinate with shift in‑charge, furnace operators, tappers, stoking car operators, and maintenance personnel to address deviations and equipment abnormalities.
• Maintain accurate operating logs, shift reports, production records, process data, and alarm history.
• Report operational abnormalities, support troubleshooting, and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Vocational/Technical Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Operations, Production, Process Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2‑5 years of experience in ferro‑silicon, ferro‑alloy, steel, smelting, or similar heavy‑industrial operations, including control‑room and furnace operation.
• Experience working in shift‑based environments with close coordination among field operators and maintenance teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLC and DCS process‑control systems.
• Knowledge of Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) operations and related process parameters.
• Ability to respond to alarms, process deviations, and equipment abnormalities promptly.
